For example you still need Algae for some crafting, but you can't collect Algae any more, and hunting has been completely stripped out except for one short sequence where your NPC hunter companion shoots some foxes on your behalf for a farmer. The balance of resources is simply way off and several mechanics have been stripped out for no particular reason. Unfortunately, even after 4 games, the developers somehow managed to botch this one. That was fine before, they're called 'Lost Tales' rather than 'Hero of the Kingdom 4' because they're not trying to innovate, but they need to at least play the hits properly. Like the first Lost Tales, 2 doesn't bring any new mechanics to the table unless you count the inclusion of a couple of NPCs who join your party for the long term. It's not just that the same formula is being milked one too many times, this instalment is genuinely flawed and the worst of the series, to the extent that I actually struggled to bring myself to finish it, despite it's typically-short 3 hour playtime.
